Breakfast on day 1 of the tour was in Sheffield where you can find many houses with lovely murals. From there we moved on to Cradle Mountain where we had the choice of 2 hikes. Barbara and I chose the way up to Marion's Lookout as did the most of the group - the view there is great. For the descent, Barbara and I chose an alternate way that I knew from my last trip here. We came past Waldheim and finally saw the wild wombats - the main reason we chose this way. After sunset we visited devils@cradle, a sanctuary for Tasmanian Devils. Accomodation for that night were Cosy Cabins, wooden barracks in the woods. Beware of the possums there! | |||
