Departed Germany on 16 February at night we arrived in Sydney on Monday February 18. The airport shuttle brought us to our funny hostel: Asylum Backpackers where we were happy to have a shower after this long voyage, also we came from German winter to Australian summer still wearing our long clothes! We spent a lot of time in the parks (mostly Botanic Gardens and Hyde Park) as well as the city and harbours (Circular Quay and Darling Harbour). With all the animals and trees it was a lovely and even natural place to be. On 21 February we made a daytrip to the Blue Mountains including a stop at Featherdale Wildlife Park, where Barbara could pat all the animals she ever wanted to (especially Wombats!). We saw the Three Sisters and had a (short) winetasting. The tour finished with a ferry ride from eastern Sydney to Circular Quay.
