It was planned to use the Scenic Railway to get up to Kuranda but due to a landslide we had to travel by Skyrail the way up and return. It was an amazing trip nevertheless - travelling above the rainforest and seeing some of the giant blue butterflies. We had 2 intermediate stops to do some bush walking and read the signs along the way. "Barron Falls" made a big noise though we were told it is only a little creek in the dry season. Kuranda was a very touristic place with lots of shops and attractions. What I liked the most there was "Venom Zoo" where we could see many venomous and poisonous creatures.
